The Assembly provides opportunities for member organisations to share plans, knowledge and experiences in the combating commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC). Many organisations working on CSEC in local contexts work far from large urban centres or communication networks and often lack access to updated information and technical resources. The Assembly provides a forum for members to strengthen linkages with their counterparts in other parts of the world and to sharing information, expertise and technical inputs to enhance their ability to influence national and regional agendas on CSEC. The Assembly also promote the strengthening of alliances for coordinated action at various levels.

Some of the important tangible outcomes were:

• Articulated plans for collaboration on regional and global activities related to the elimination of CSEC;

• Regional plans for further development and implementation of national plans for combating CSEC and implementation of regional Yokohama commitments;

• Improved awareness and knowledge on issues related to new manifestations of CSEC worldwide, especially CSEC via the Internet;

• Increased technical knowledge in the use of international legal monitoring instruments, the media and information technology;

• New governing Board for ECPAT International elected, including youth representative; and

• Proposed amendments to governance (constitution, by-laws, etc) of ECPAT International formally deliberated and voted upon by members.
